5 Hair Treatments You Can Find in Your Fridge

Your hair needs some serious help, but you don't want to spend the money or don't have the time to run to your salon for your favorite product. What do you do? Run to the kitchen! You can be pleasantly surprised by the beauty treatments that you can discover in your own trusty refrigerator. Check out these five affordable hair products from your fridge:

1. Eggs.

No matter your hair type, an egg's fats and proteins can do wonders! Massage an egg into your hair and let sit for about 20 minutes. Be sure to wash your hair with cool water. No one wants scrambled eggs in their hair!

2. Dairy Products.

The lactic acid in dairy products such as sour cream, yogurt or milk can strip away dirt, grime, and air pollution that has built up on your locks. Try massaging sour cream or yogurt into you damp hair and let it sit for half an hour. Wash your hair thoroughly to see increased moisture and shine

3. Beer.

Have fine, limp hair? Crack open a cold one. The yeast in the beer works to give your hair a little boost. Try pouring a flat beer into a spray bottle and spraying dry hair. The malty protein residue will give your hair extra volume as you style.

4. Honey.

Have you abused your hair with the flat iron? Spent too much time in the summer sun? Reach for the honey. A humectant-something that retains moisture-honey can help you hair stay moisturized. We recommend mixing honey with a little olive oil to make it less difficult to wash out of your hair. Pure honey can put you in a sticky situation!

5. Avocados.

It's no wonder some of our favorite beauty products contain avocado. The fruit is packed with oils that smooth our hair. If you have naturally frizzy hair, or are dealing with high humidity, avocados can help! Mash one up, massage into your hair, and then rinse.

Who says you have to always use expensive, salon products? Sometimes the best treatment can be found in your fridge!
