I am a nursing student with ECPI and I have had wonderful experiences with the nursing instructors on my campus. However, recently me and my cohort had the unfortunate experience of having a certain instructor from the New Port News campus “teach” us. Her name is Alexcia McIntosh. In the year I have been at ECPI I have never had a more unprofessional, careless, snarky and egotistical instructor. She was late 30 minutes to an hour every lecture and didn’t even have the decency to apologize. She hardly taught us, never explained the material and continually told us to “just google it” if we had any questions on the material. Her manner of teaching was just plain lazy. When we did her tests she would have questions on material she never went over with us and that were not at all on the chapters we were assigned to read. When we voiced our concerns with her she stated we could “just leave then and go home”. when we as students tried to tutor with her she was unprofessional and made snarky remarks that no instructor should make to their students. This woman is not an instructor and frankly is a disgrace to the nursing and teaching community. Some people were just not meant to be teachers/nurses. If she treated her students with such appalling behavior I cannot imagine the way she must have treated her patients. Alexcia McIntosh..SHAME ON YOU. If you see this woman as your instructor..run!!

ECPI was a great experience, I recommend this University of higher education to anyone interested in pursuing their degree. I will be pursuing my MBA myself at ECPI University.

I am truly disappointed with the Newport news va ecpi nursing program. I am graduate LPN and RN, from this campus, refereed my sister; she entered the LPN program and due to unfortunate circumstances,she had to sit out with only 5 months left in the program. She has been trying to reenter the program for 10 months and has been brushed off and lied to by everyone from the president to admissions. The lack of curiosity and respect from what is supposed to be a place of higher learning is inexcusable. The credits does not transfer, so she is stuck fight for her placement within a program that does not care about the well-being of their students. I do not recommend anyone waste their time or money at ECPI Newport News!
