1 thing that teachers are forgetting to teach here is professionalism. A couple weeks ago, I coordinated with Empire over in my area 2 HOURS AWAY and this Empire, to get my patch test done. I made it clear to the people who answered my multiple calls that I would be getting my service (cut & color) done on a Saturday at Allentown. The people on the phones confirmed that with me and said I can just walk in no appointment necessary. So it was coordinated just fine. I called Wednesday, got the patch test Wednesday. Friday I called Empire in my area to ensure all is well with the patch test. I then called Allentown to make them aware the patch test was good and I will be in the next day, Saturday. My friend, who I was visiting. Also coordinated with them to make sure Saturday would work and told them I would be driving in from 2-3 hours away. She also was planning to get a haircut. They said all was good. The next morning, I woke up early, I drove 2 hours to this place and arrived before 9 AM (when they open). I walked in the doors right after opening, only to be told they can't do it. They said they don't take clients on Saturday. I explained to them about how I talked to them, to which the woman at the counter says "oh I remember this conversation". She remembered it? They then ask how long I will be in town and I told them I literally just came for this one day, since I was told I would be able to get my service done. Multiple times! She said this isn't the first time that this has happened. She asked if I could do an appointment on Wednesday. Like no, you heard me say I drove 2 hours to get here and will be going home the same day. I'm highly disappointed in their attitude and the fact that they were not professional. I'm also dumbfounded at the fact that there were 3-4 teachers/students and none of them could make an exception to take me, due to circumstance and the fact that this was no fault but their own. I ended up getting my haircut at Sleek Styles Salon and they did a phenomenal job with my hair and my friends hair. To anyone looking for a place to get their hair done, while helping students learn, I reccomend any of the other beauty schools in the area (The Beauty Institute in the mall is a great choice). They are super professional and did a great job with my hair in the past. Unfortunately they weren't open that Saturday. Find you a hair school that holds professionalism at a high standard because that is something that is important for the future. I also want to add in here that Empire Beauty in York was professional and the behavior of the students/teachers in Whitehall doesn't reflect all Empire Beauty Schools.

Yesterday was my first time at Empire ... and I will be back. Lively atmosphere. Professional and friendly staff. I asked to have my haircut like Dame Judy Dench and that's exactly what she gave me! I also liked that the teaching staff was around and watching and that they wanted to know if I was pleased. All in all, I was very impressed.
