Let me give a little background. I went last May for the first time and I was sold. I had asked for someone who was almost finished with their hours/a senior, and I just wanted a haircut. Nothing fancy, but I would like some long layers blended back in. Whoever I had was amazing. I felt like I was at a high end salon after she styled my hair and helped me figure out which tools to use, etc. the cut was great, my hair looked perfect, and I knew I would come back.
I never have time to get my haircut, so it has been since last May that I had my haircut. I will have to say that when leaving a phone message for this establishment, they do not call back. I have tried on three occasions to leave a message and I waited for a phone call and never heard back. The third time, which was earlier this week week, I called back aboht 5 hours later, and someone answered And I asked if anybody calls back during the day because I was trying to make an appointment. She didn’t have a response
Well, when I made my appointment for today, I again asked for a senior/someone almost finished with their hours, and entering the salon, they were super busy. (I didn’t know Tuesdays were a popular day to go). Now, my critique isn’t on the hairdresser herself. She was sweet. However, when I was chitchatting with her, she barely was halfway through her hours. There were a lot of people on the floor and with that many people there, maybe they were all newish with their hours?
I brought in a few photos to show her how I wanted my layers done - just long layers and blended. Nothing crazy. She said she would have to ask her supervisor bc she didn’t know about doing long layers. Red flag for me. Supervisor came over and told her what to do. When she was finished, she said she had asked the supervisor to come over to look at it, and the supervisor okayed it. She didn’t offer to turn my chair around to see how I liked it in the back or show me what it looked like in the back either.
The hairstylist asked if I wanted any product in my hair and I said no I just wanted a blowdry. She left for a moment and came back with product and put it in my hair. Stupid me didn’t say anything because she already put it in my hair and I didn’t want her to have to wash my hair over again. And then, for a blow dry, typically I’ve never had to ask how I want my hair to be dried, but usually a stylist takes the blow dryer out And blow dries the heck out of it with a lot of air, and it comes out nice and sleek, and I can put my fingers through it really nicely. This time? Not so much. She had a hairdryer, but she put diffuser on it, and she kept scrunching it underneath at the nape. It was on the lowest form of air coming out of a hairdryer I have ever had, and I tried to put my fingers through it, and it was a frizzy mess. Immediately, after leaving the salon, I felt my hair and it was still pretty damp all under it (I have thinner hair which usually dries quickly) , and was thick/sticky with product (felt dirty and tangly) and I was not impressed with how frizzy it still was. I still tipped and said thank you, but I really didn’t get questioned on how I liked it overall (the hair stylist asked once if I liked the length, which I did); this was one of the rare times I’ve gone to a school and it was not at all what I wanted. Again, the girl was sweet, but the end result wasn’t at all what it should have looked like.
Giving 3 stars bc it was clean inside and the girl was nice, (albeit not super conversational), and I went on a Tuesday which I guess means $5 cuts.

My daughter's and I have been going here for our hair care needs for well over a year now. I have not been disappointed yet. We don't just go for a basic trim. We've had complete transformations done, bleached/colored hair, and layering that I've never been able to achieve at any salon for years. The instructors are amazing. The students do an impeccable job. I highly recommend getting your salon services done here. Not only do you get to help the students but you also walk out looking and feeling amazing!!!
