Although I enjoyed the director of the school, the director does not teach. This school does not have proper teachers. I've learned just about 90% of my skill say from watching YouTube videos. The person that is supposed to be teaching... Has no concept of the position. You will not receive the proper training you are searching for. Don't let the initial interview and smiles in the beginning fool you. Three person that supposed to teach... Spends all day chain smoking... N has a serious issues with people of color. She makes it very known she is this way. You will pay for products and when you bring clients in, the school now wants you to pay to use the chair or any school products. I also attend Avalon Beauty Academy. To have something to compare to, this school has no structure. No anything. PLEASE BE WISE ON HOW YOU SPEND YOUR DOLLARS. THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR STUDENTS OF COLOR. I REPEAT... THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR. From my experience, I've had my stuff taken, I have been singled out and because select STUDENTS were Kool with me... They also were mistreated. The licences exam... it's told that is included in the cost of school. I even made payments, yet was told to still have to pay. Their story changes as to what's going to be beneficial to the school. A smaller school doesn't always mean better. Smaller or empty schools... Says nobody attends. I stayed till close each day where the teacher and the rest of students left between 11 am - 1 pm daily. You will be given select rules that are designed to keep the students of color in line... While the white students are allowed to do all they want. The teacher plays favorites and makes it known. The Director is a beautiful soul. I genuinely believe she means well and she wants to see the students win. The current instructor... She really needs to be replaced with a true teacher and not a simple stylist. She's not a teacher. She's a racist bully. She even left a racist comment on my social media page during the time of a religious holiday I celebrate. The Director also saw this. Nothing happened. Just goes around being malicious to people, doesn't care what comes out her mouth to you... Just really rude & disrespectful and will justify her moves in such manner. So... I guess I'll have to use YouTube for my license exam also. Been doing this process this way since day 1. If you speak your peace, you will be removed from school and told not too return due to the teacher feeling some kinda way about you as a student. The teacher is the important one. Students really don't matter... Or that's how I was treated. Corporate said 5 days... 5 turned into 30... and was told not to come back after the 5 days because the teacher was mad still. Three Director DOES PROTECT THIS TEACHER. THIS PERSON CALLED A TEACHER IS ALLOWED TO MISTREAT PEOPLE AND DO ALL SHE WANTS TO YOU AS A STUDENT. I'M SORRY... THIS AIN'T WORTH $20K. If you spend your money on school, your supposed to get an education. If it wasn't for the fact that I come from a line of hair stylist in my family... I wouldn't have made it. I feel like I was pushed out of school because nobody wanted to address the true problem. The Teachet doesn't and can't teach. Has no concept of teaching... They take your $20k and then you are left to self teach. Any complaints are thrown and tossed to the side. I'm glad I'm done... But I wouldn't tell anyone else too come here. The system is not balanced. You will not be taught because if you ask the instructor for help... She will literally DO THE ENTIRE CLIENT FOR YOU... INSTEAD OF JUST ANSWERING YOUR QUESTION. TRUST ME... I've already called the State Board about this instructor. Can't force people to take exams and they don't know the information. I wish you well on your search... But this is the real truth of this school. Save your energy.

I have been to alot if salo s always turning out worse than before I can finally say I LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. MY HAIR HAS NEVER LOOKED SO AMAZING!!I I get compliments wherever i go my self confidence has soared. Everyone is amazing. I only go to Hilary for my hair. I promise you will not be disapointed
