If you want to become an esthetician in Vermont or New York, Burlington and Plattsburgh may be great places to begin. New York expects the number of jobs to grow by 20% in that same time frame, and their estheticians earned a mean salary of $41,660 ($20.03) that same year.
To earn your esthetician license in Vermont, you need to complete 600 hours of training or 800 hours of an apprenticeship and pass two exams. New York has the same requirements, minus the apprenticeship option. (Check with each state's board of cosmetology to see if your license can transfer from one place to the other.)
