What You Can Do With Your Ohio Makeup Artist License
In Ohio, professionals with a BTQR in makeup artistry can apply cosmetics to beautify clients' skin. With a BTQR, you can perform makeup services at the salon you register with during the application process.
The services you can offer are limited. For example, BTQR holders aren't allowed to apply false lashes to clients—though estheticians can! Estheticians may also provide more in-depth skincare services. Further, cosmetologists can provide all those services, plus work with hair and nails.
Ohio Makeup Artist School
While there's no specific makeup school or education hours requirement to earn your BTQR in makeup artistry in Ohio, you must prove that you have at least a 10th-grade education and have completed makeup training or an apprenticeship. A trainer must sign an affidavit form during the application process.
If you'd like to expand your skills, a 1,500-hour cosmetology training program or 600-hour esthetician program can allow you to learn about makeup and then some.
