The Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency checks the education and credentials of all aspiring laser technicians. To apply for licensure, you must provide proof of 40 hours of didactic training and completion of 10 laser hair removal procedures. You must also pay a $30 licensing fee. When your application is approved, you earn the title of laser technician.

In Arizona, if you want to become a laser technician, you will need to register with the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency which costs $30. Your license renewal will also cost $30, and you can view the application for renewal right here. We also recommend becoming certified through the National Council on Laser Certification. They are the authorities on laser training, and recognized for setting the standards for laser professionals across the country. When you become registered, you will need to renew your certification every three years for a $95 fee.
